February
27, 2007 - Kevin Gets 1st Win on Dirt at Blackman!

The season did not start out as well as
the Kevin Peel Racing crew had hoped for. Misfortune at
Southern Raceway sent the team home with far less than they
expected.
Kevin's
bad luck however, did not last long. In only his second start
of the season, Kevin was able to pull off a victory. This
victory was extraordinarily special for Kevin for one main
reason. It was his first on dirt.
This first
dirt victory came at Blackman Motor Speedway, in Blackman, FL.
The track, which was recently reopened held it's inaugural
event February 17th, and Kevin was sure to be there.
Kevin
qualified in the second position, and finished a strong second
place in his heat race. At this point, the team knew their
luck was turning.
Kevin
started on the outside of the front row for the feature, with
Calvin Cook to his inside. Cook led much of the first half of
the race, with Kevin hot in pursuit. Kevin finally made his
move around lap 15 to the inside of Cook to take the lead.
From that point on it was clear sailing to the checkers for
Chipley driver.
Kevin was
more than excited about the victory, but is hungry for more.
"We want
to get 10 wins on dirt, and 10 wins on asphalt this season." -
