Kevin
started the Modified feature from the outside of the front row. He
quickly took the lead and stayed there for the first 12 laps. On lap
13, Kevin was approaching lapped traffic and moved to the bottom to
pass when the lapped car quickly turned left into Kevin's lane. Jamie
Ater passed the lapped car on the top side and took the lead. Kevin
maintained the 2nd position until the checkers flew.
Kevin
also drove the #6 Vintage car this week. He started the heat race from
the 3rd position. He quickly moved to second and set his sights on the
lead. He tried to pass the #5 on both the top and bottom of the track,
but was unable to complete the pass. He started the feature from the
6th position and made his way to the lead on lap 10. On lap 14, a
slow car spun in turn 2 just as Kevin was going into turn 1. Kevin was
unable to stop the #6 and hit the spun car. He was able to continue,
but the car was heavily damaged. He brought the car home in the 5th
position.
